[A pause. He has a lot he kind of wants to say, about Betelgeuse, about where he's at and how far he still has to go, but in the short term:]

Why would that have stopped you from working at Persephone? Just not wanting to see him showing up to the office?

yea i guess, and i already got a lecture from hange about not being patient enough with him and didn't want to get one from you next thats all

it's a long story

i was just feeling weird around people hes really close to but i think i'm over it now

[And he's noticed that for a guy who needs as much slack and Betelgeuse does, he needs a little practice in giving other people the benefit of the doubt.]

For what it's worth, Tiff-- The Barge is weird and incestuous and I think there's a really good chance that at some point we'll end up on opposite sides of a argument that we both really care about, or-- I don't know, on opposite sides of weird boy drama.

Maybe there's like, a level of tension where I wouldn't be able to leave it at the door, but stuff like-- you fighting with Betelgeuse? Friendship stuff? I promise not to bring it to work, okay?

i know, i'm used to that, its happened to me a lot

but this was different for me

like i said its not your fault, it was me who would have had trouble leaving it at the door and i didn't want to make you deal with that
