[Rhys doesn't have a problem with the guy, but that's the only conversation he can recall having with the guy.]

Why does he want to talk to me?

He sympathized when you were brought into the hospital. And he helped calm me down.

I don't know. I suppose he wants to teach coping mechanisms; he's been here the longest.

I didn't know you guys knew each other.

[God it's weird being an inmate. Suddenly everyone has opinions about you. Including, apparently, total strangers.]

I'm happy to hang out with the guy, but I think I'm coping okay...

We didn't actually. Not well. I'd like for that to change.

[skeptical look!]

And no. I'm staying with Flint for a bit.

[this is the wrong phrasing. He knew things were that serious, he just didn't know that they were officially in a relationship and not just intensely codependent.]

It happened recently. He kissed me.

[pause, still digesting how he feels about that]

We discussed our private lives and our issues with intimacy and it was decided we should...make things more official.

[so. uh. he has a boyfriend now??? despite being asexual? what is life]

Aw! Hux, that's awesome news. You deserve to be with someone as good for you as he is.

[A pause, then, completely innocently:]

Is this your first relationship? I mean, this kind of relationship?

[worstweasley]

Funnily enough, he doesn't think he deserves me. So maybe that's a poor sign of things to come.

[A small nod]

Probably something you want to work on.

But I think-- Knowing that you care about each other is probably the biggest hurdle you could get over, and you guys have cleared it. Everything else-- you'll get there.

I've been trying. He seems perpetually doomed to think less of himself.
